CHARIS & DAN WEDDING

A LUXURY MARQUEE  AT A PRIVATE HOME IN THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE

We planned this traditional wedding celebration at the bride's private family home in Herefordshire, in the English countryside. We had a pre-wedding church ceremony the day before which you can see here. On the wedding day itself we created a series of jasmine arches down the pathway to the main lawn where we had a bespoke stretch tent and floral walkway leading to a circular stage and seating  in the round for a private celebrant led ceremony.

After the ceremony we led guests on a magical garden walk with fresh cocktails and champagne along the way, leading to a beautiful rose garden with a dedicated cocktail bar, live music, canapés and a vegetable garden inspired grazing station. We had a garden tent with French chateau vintage lounge furniture for guests to relax amongst friends, with fresh floral fragranced outdoor candles throughout.

From here guests were called to dinner, as they meandered through the grounds of the private home to the main marquee for the "wedding breakfast". We designed this to be in keeping with the gardens and interiors of the manor house, as well as inspired by the couples aesthetic and desire for fresh white and green on the colour palette. Bespoke poems were handwritten for each guest and revealed as they opened the personalised menu booklets which described the five course menu and wine flight, using local and seasonal produce as much as possible. We designed a personalised monogram on napkins which we paired with stone linen tablecloths and delicate tableware throughout. In the ceiling of the clear roof we had soft white drapery and foliage garlands with glass elegenat chandeliers. The room and linen was scented using notes of â€‹lemon petitgrain leaves, rhubarb, tulip extract, violet leaves, galbanum, heliotrope and suede.

After dinner we revealed a secret afterparty area of the tent inspired Parisian cocktail bars and private members clubs. We used black and charcoal soft furnishings as a base, with emerald green velvet and gold accessories including a gold mirrored dance floor and circular bar. The emerald green colour was inspired by the dress worn by the bride on the day the couple were engaged. Above the bar we had a giant floral installation with a different darker glass chandelier set lighting it up from within, and around the lounge seating we broke up the space with large plants candles. The DJ filled the floor after the first dance, with a gold confetti cannon creating an atmosphere. We had fireworks in between sets, and late night food for the guests who stayed late into the night! The secret nightclub area was scented using notes of  opopanax, rum, geranium, labdanum, rosemary, moss, sandalwood and vanilla.

The bride wore an Italian mikado satin dress and french lace veil bespoke from Caroline Castigliano for the ceremony, with Jimmy Choo pearl shoes, double pearl Christian Dior earrings and Bvlgari jewellery (a gift from the groom on the morning of the wedding). She then changed into a couture Phillipa Lepley dress for the evening, with a lily of the valley pearl and crystal embellished cape. Her shoes were by Jimmy Choo, the Swarovski limited edition for their 20 yr anniversary. The groom wore a traditional morning suit and waistcoat, all bespoke from Favourbrook with Church’s shoes and Hermes tie, Charles Tyrwhitt shirt, vintage cufflinks and tie pin, and a pocket square from Aspinal of London. The bride gifted him a Jaeger-leCoultre watch on the morning of the wedding.
