EMBRACING AUTUMN: LIFESTYLE TIPS
Ahhh Autumn, such a wonderful transition of seasons. Here where I am in The Cotswolds you really can see the leaves changing and the weather turning, so I thought it might be nice to write a few tips about how to embrace the season ahead.
CHANGE YOUR WARDROBE
Time to put away the floral dresses and sandals, time to reemerge with soft knits, boots, scarves, coats, trousers and cosy loungewear as the nights become darker and the weather becomes cooler.
BOOK A SPA
Seriously, just do it. After all the sun damage and heat of the Summer it's well worth booking in a restorative facial, recovery massage or even a proper treat with a spa day to get your skin glowing for fall.
SWITCH UP SCENTS
Whether your home or personal fragrance, I always love changing mine with the seasons. Opt for spicier, more woody and cashmere like scents. Layer them with matching body creams and bath oils. Heavenly!
DECORATE YOUR SPACE
Autumn is the perfect time to change your soft furnishings a little - soft cosy throws and cushions, new bedspreads, and fresh decor like candles and Autumn wreaths for around the home.
PLAN A PARTY
Autumn is the perfect time to plan a celebration, as the busy Summer season of weddings passes and we look towards gatherings with friends and family by candlelight. Whether an intimate dinner party, or something more formal, it's a great time to plan an event!
One of my favourite things about Autumn is the fresh, local and seasonal food and drink produce. Pumpkins and squashes, game, winter vegetables, damsons, apples, blackberries... suddenly menus have had a switch up and I am here for it!
JOIN A BOOK CLUB
Or just plan to read more books! One of the joys of colder nights inside, is the heavenly feeling of curling up with a great novel by the fire. I have a huge collection I just haven't found time to sit down with in the last six months and I cannot wait!
