We were thrilled to be asked to create a floral installation for Perrin & Rowe, manufacturers of premium British brassware who have the most beautiful showroom at the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour in London.
For London Design Week 2019, interior showrooms throughout the Design Centre took part in 'Legends', whereby each company takes inspiration from an iconic image from the photographic archives of Iconic Images. We were incredibly excited when we found out that the image chosen for Perrin & Rowe is none other than the legend herself, Audrey Hepburn. The photograph was taken by Norman Parkinson in 1955 in Hepburn's villa just outside of Rome, for Glamour magazine. She is wearing an incredible Givenchy cocktail dress and is surrounded by a wall of bougainvillea.
All the heart eyes!
The showroom window really did lend itself to a floral installation. It's not often that you have a beautiful bath and floor to ceiling pipes to work with. They were the perfect accompaniment for wild trailing monkey vines with clusters of bright pink flowers and silver palms and eucalyptus - a nod to the Italian landscape. We wanted it to look really natural, as if the flowers are growing out from the ground, the vines attaching themselves to brass pipes and taps.
We decided to include some subtle white blossom flowers to pick up on the teeny tiny white flowers in the centre of the bougainvillea as you can see above. We combined this with wisteria, garden roses and foxgloves for a culmination of English and Italian flowers.
Such a dreamy job.
Thank you so much for asking us take part Perrin & Rowe and do head down this week to see the window in action - there's lots of incredible installations on show and Perrin & Rowe's products are just beautiful.
