I often wish you could experience my wedding portfolio in a more immersive way. For me, scenting your celebration is a hugely important part of the overall design process - a great scent can literally make a thousand memories, and it is one day you are definitely going to remember.

I always consider your different scent notes around the design scheme as for me that should always be inclusive of all the senses. I need it to work beautifully together and to tell a story from the minute you and your guests enter a space. It's essential in layering luxe details.

How do you chose your own wedding scent? Well I would advise starting with the overall aesthetic and atmosphere you are trying to create. Is it fresh and clean like the mediterranean ocean? Is is bohemian and sexy with middle eastern influences? Start writing down words and pulling together imagery.

Then we must ensure that the scent isn't going to overpower the florals, the food, or your own perfume worn on the day. It should be complimentary not overwhelming. I have partnered with a number of brands over the last ten years to ensure my knowledge and expertise is second to none with event planning and room scenting. I know how to layer and blend. I take great care in selections for every single client.

If you are scenting your own wedding and feel a little intimidated then I would recommend selecting one or two key notes: rose and lavender, bay and rosemary, lime and pink grapefruit.

I would usually take guests on a scent journey too. So what I use in the ceremony room, will differ from the reception and party spaces. However I don't switch scents erratically, there is always a common base or top note I carry through.

How lovely to then be able to have those scents in your home long after the wedding celebrations are over? Make sure to order extra for your return after the honeymoon. I promise you won't regret coming home to light a candle that literally smells like memories of the best day ever!
