Slim Aarons Style Parties & Weddings at The Belmond Hotels in Taormina

Slim Aarons wedding venue Sicily - The White Lotus - Belmond Hotels

This year as part of our tour of Sicily to discover more destination wedding venues in Europe, we were lucky enough to experience the joys of both Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo (located in town next to the famous Teatro Antico di Taormina) and Belmond Villa Sant' Andrea (their sister hotel on the beach) during our stay in Taormina.

Our first stop was at the beach club location, which has recently seen some incredible upgrades to the interior design. Honestly it was one of our favourite days on the island, and we were treated as guests would be if staying on site or visiting for a day trip should they be using the more central hotel as their main accommodation (there is a regular shuttle between the two). The bar and restaurant area is done beautifully, the pool is very Slim Aarons style as seen in the photo above

While lounging on the sun beds you are only disturbed occasionally by delightful staff with cold ice cream, chilled face water spray and offers to bring you refreshments. The food over our luncheon was outstanding, and we tried as much from the menu as we could!

Set between cliff tops and sparkling waters in Mazzaro Bay, this 19th-century coastal residence is a superb choice for a more relaxed Sicilian wedding or brunch party.

We then moved over to their more central venue which has larger event spaces and large luscious gardens full of bougainvillea and incredible views. The neighboring Greek Theatre, built in the third century BC, is a historical marvel that plays host to open-air music performances but can also be hired for a ceremony or private event. It really would be the most incredible backdrop with Mount Etna appearing in the panoramic view above the hotel.

We had a full tour, and understand some areas are due for new renovations which really will be very exciting. Though the property is larger, it also feels like a secret hideaway with enchanting Italian gardens (which is a piece of history in itself) and an opportunity to deliver fine dining for up to 250 guests.

Our lunch here was excellent, with fabulous service and plenty of options to choose from.
