SWISS & ENGLISH DESTINATION WEDDING

We are delighted to be able to share images with you from one of our recent Summer weddings in England for which we did full service planning, design, production and floristry for a three day wedding celebration in Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds.

Guests arrived on the Friday and were welcomed into their hotel rooms with a gorgeous personalised welcome gift, before being transported to Soho Farmhouse for a drinks reception and rehearsal dinner at Pen Yen restaurant. After a beautiful Summer's evening relaxing by the pool and enjoying the grounds of one of the private properties at the Farmhouse, guests then returned for a peaceful night before the big day. See more of the rehearsal party here.

The floristry, production and styling team worked hard for the entire week before the wedding day - with many of the key staff working late into the night and up at the break of dawn to create their magic.

On the day if the wedding, guests travelled via private coaches from their hotels to the picturesque village of Somerton where they arrived at the most beautiful Cotswolds stone church. The entrance was adorned with hundreds of roses and wild foliage in a huge arch that led inside to a space filled with more florals. The church was scented with diptique candles, and beautiful crisp blue orders of service were tied with co-ordinating velvet ribbon and a personalised hand stamped pack of confetti - containing a mix of fresh rosemary, lavender and rose petals.

After the ceremony, guests lined the pathway and showered the newlyweds with confetti before waving them off in a vintage car and walking the picturesque village road to the Bride's family home, where the reception was hosted within the private gardens.

Mini tents were set up on the lawn with grazing stations, a bespoke fully stocked bar with refreshing cocktails, fresh oyster shuckers and a live roaming band. A truly traditional English wedding garden party, with a few Swiss traditional twists subtly included within the catering.

After the guests had enjoyed the food, drink and entertainment, and formal photographs taken, they were provided with transport to return to their hotels with time to rest and change their outfits - later returning for a black tie drinks reception and dinner party. This is very much a Swiss tradition and something the couple felt was important to include in the celebrations - everyone loved it, we think it might be something we suggest for more weddings in the UK!

Tables were dressed in a deep blue linen with stone linen napkins, blush toned florals and nude pillar candles - with delicate tableware to bring a luxurious country chic element to the space. Above the tables we installed a huge installation using oak leaves and foliage, mixed with blush florals and hanging chandeliers.

After a formal dinner, guests were led into a surprise space for the cake cutting - a St Tropez inspired modern dance floor and chill out area with access to a private decking to watch the sunset from.
