Weddings at Vogue's Favourite Cotswolds Hotels: An Insiders Perspective by Jessie Westwood

In September 2025, Vogue published a definitive guide to “The 5 Best Hotels in the Cotswolds,” naming some of England’s most enchanting countryside properties - Thyme, Estelle Manor, The Bull at Charlbury, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, and The Wild Rabbit by Daylesford. All properties which we know well and have worked with for our clients over many years.
These are not just luxurious backdrops - they are storied venues, each with its own character, history, and potential for magical weddings.
Why does this list matter?
When a renowned publication like Vogue spotlights hotels with unique charm and setting, it tells you what a discerning traveler (or soon-to-be-married couple) cares about: authenticity, atmosphere, the subtle layers of design and place.
That’s where I come in. As a wedding planner, I don’t just book venues - I bring out their soul. And because I’ve stayed at and worked with all of the hotels on that Vogue list I can offer you insider access, tailored design, and trusted logistics.
A Trusted Local Cotswolds Expert
I was born and grew up in The Cotswolds, left when I was nineteen to study Law in London and then work in the city for five years, before moving back in 2010 when I started my own wedding and event planning business here. Whilst we have grown substantially and have international acclaim delivering destination weddings all over the world, our depth of knowledge, professional and personal connections within the Cotswolds region (from Gloucestershire to Oxfordshire and Wiltshire) is second to none.
We have had cocktails with Raymond Blanc, who opened Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons the year I was born! We continue to visit and meet with the team and we are extremely excited about their rennovation plans that will take us to the re-opening in 2027.
We have planned intimate pre-wedding welcome dinners at The Wild Rabbit since it first opened, and work closely with the event team across the Daylesford property portfolio delivering larger weddings in their dedicated event space Heritage House.
We remember the days when we delivered weddings at the stately home that has since been transformed into the hotel and members club Estelle Manor, and continue to liaise with them on guest concierge and travel plans for local weddings, as well as private spaces for multi-day celebrations in the region.
The Bull at Charlbury is a little small for our client weddings, but we use them exclusively for guest accommodation and hosted dinner parties and it often features in our little black book of recommendations in the area on wedding websites and information guides.
I first worked at Thyme in 2014 long before the Ox Barn restaurant launch and expansion of buildings, swimming pool and spa. We recently produced their first ever exclusive large-scale marquee wedding during the Summer months with one of our US based clients.
Whilst we know the Vogue editors have their fingers on the pulse... we know so many more secret, hidden and less well known treasures across the Cotswolds too!
When you work with me, you’re tapping into that network and experience. Whether your ideal vision is refined manor-luxe, relaxed country charm, or gastronomic excellence - my team will adapt your plans and concept to match each venue’s strengths.
My Exclusive Partnership with Thyme
Thyme is not just one of the hotels on the list, it is a property I know deeply and have an exclusive partnership with already. Read more about it here.
Thyme is family-owned; the founder, Caryn Hibbert, transformed the buildings around Southrop Manor into a refined hotel, restaurant, and cooking school.
Its ambiance is quintessentially English: botanical textiles, roll-top tubs, water meadows on the estate.
Because I am their exclusive planning partner, when you choose Thyme, you’re not just getting a planner who “knows Thyme” you’re getting direct access to the team, preferential logistics, and a cohesive vision from day one.
I have overseen weddings of all scales at Thyme, from intimate garden ceremonies to marquee dinners under the stars. I can coordinate with their culinary team, spa, grounds, and design team seamlessly.
